Degree candidates eligible to participate in 2013 CVPA Convocation exercises are:
December 2012................................All degrees
May 2013.........................................All degrees
August 2013.....................................Bachelor’s and master’s degrees
• Graduation Intent: Spring and Summer 2013 graduates, please visit the graduation website at http://registrar.gmu.edu for instructions on how to apply to graduate.
• Spring Graduates: The last day to apply online was February 22, 2013.
• Late Graduation Forms: Should you miss the February deadline to file your intent to graduate, please fil Application found at http://registrar.gmu.edu/graduation/lategradapp.html. Students who file later than March 25 will have no guarantee that their name will appear in the CVPA Convocation program. Notify your program of your late application.
• Summer Graduates: Registration to apply to graduate opens January 30, 2013. Please file your intent to graduate by March 25, 2013 so your name will be included in the 2013 CVPA Convocation program.

CVPA ConvocationThe College of Visual and Performing Arts Convocation is Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2:00pm in Center for the Arts Concert Hall. Convocation participants must arrive no later than 1:15pm in the outside plaza between Concert Hall and Mason Hall.
NEW 2013: CVPA Convocation is a ticketed event.
Convocation ticket information:
Each student graduating with a bachelor or master’s degree may request up to 4 tickets for guests. Doctoral candidates may request up to 8 tickets.
April 2 - In-person pick-up at Concert Hall Ticket Office.
April 30 - All unclaimed tickets will be released and graduating students may request up to 2 additional tickets in-person at Concert Hall Ticket Office.
May 15 - All remaining tickets are released to the public for in-person pick-up at the Concert Hall Ticket Office.
Convocation tickets must be claimed by graduates with their Mason ID at the Center for the Arts Ticket Office on the Fairfax Campus. Ticket Office hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm.
Convocation is a General Admission event (no assigned seating). General Admission tickets cannot be reprinted. Do not lose your tickets.
Convocation details for graduates:
Convocation participants must arrive no later than 1:15pm on Friday, May 17.
1:15pm Graduates arrive in the outside plaza between Concert Hall and Mason Hall for sign-in, instructions, and lineup. In case of inclement weather, please report to the 1st floor of the Performing Arts Building, Room A105 (Theater Space).
2:00pm Convocation begins
3:30pm Convocation ends
Graduates must wear caps and gowns for Convocation. For more information about caps and gowns, please contact the University Bookstore at (703) 993-2666.

Time to Register for Spring 2013 Classes
Students, be sure to register for the spring semester, promptly. Many of our core classes are filling up; make sure that you secure a place in the courses that you need for timely completion of your degree. Please note that some of our courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment. If you have any questions, contact your adviser or program director. Have a successful completion of Fall 2012, and we wish you a restful winter break!

Graduate Admission Changes
Beginning Fall 2013, all applicants who accept admission to a CVPA graduate program must pay a $200, non-refundable deposit to hold their place in the program. This deposit will be applied to the first semester's tuition costs.
