Mason’s Fourth Annual Giving Day
April 2, 2020
Each day, COVID-19 presents new challenges for our community to overcome. But, though the halls of our venues are empty, the arts remain alive.
In the College of Visual and Performing Arts, we say that the arts create community. We are proud to have you as part of our community of Mason Patriots. This isolating moment challenges and inspires us to find new ways to make that promise true. This mission has never been so vital and we want you to be a part of it.
This year for Giving Day, we ask that you consider supporting those students who have been negatively impacted due to the COVID-19 crisis through our Student Emergency Assistance Fund. We also want to give back to you this Giving Day by introducing Mason Arts at Home. This program is designed to bring virtual arts experiences to you in the comfort of your own home.
The funds I have received will help me continue life as normal as possible in the midst of this pandemic, and they have greatly alleviated my fears and anxieties caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Words cannot express how grateful I am for these funds and for University Life.

COVID-19 Student Emergency Assistance Fund
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many of our students are out of work, losing access to the income they depend upon for tuition and daily living. The intent of this fund is to provide relief to those who are struggling financially. Within one week of the creation of the fund, more than 600 students had already applied for help. We know there will be many more. Without support today, many of these students will not be able to return to continue their education in the fall.
