Arts Lead on Mason Giving Day

Thank you for making George Mason University's second annual Giving Day a grand success for the Center for the Arts! On April 5, alumni, students, faculty and staff, and members of the community came together in the spirit of crowdfunding to show their love and support for numerous projects spearheaded by the University. We’re proud to share that the Center surpassed its fundraising goal.

As you may already know, the Center for the Arts’ Giving Day project was to fund the modernization of the Monson Grand Tier (formerly Grand Tier III). The space is regularly used to host talks and masterclasses by artists and/or local experts before Great Performances at Mason and CVPA events. In an effort to enhance these experiences for patrons and students, the Monson Grand Tier requires a new projector, updated lighting fixtures, and audio equipment. We were floored to receive 40 gifts for a total of $3,843 to support this project—5% above our original goal.

We’d like to sincerely thank all of the generous donors who made gifts on Giving Day (small and large), and to give a special shout-out to Louis Delair and the Friends of the Center for the Arts for their matching challenges and encouragement. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Beyond these crowdfunding opportunities, there are many ways to support and donate to the Center for the Arts. If you’d like to learn more about becoming involved and/or how to make a contribution to the Center, please visit cfa.gmu.edu/give
