Meet the 2020 Alumni Artist Support Initiative Awardees

June 18, 2020

As a result of the pandemic and its impact on campus activity, Mason Arts at Home emerged as a valuable option to extend our programming into the virtual realm and continue engaging with the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) community. One of the ways in which Mason Arts at Home served those closest to CVPA was the Alumni Artist Support Initiative, a concerted effort to assist our alumni during a time of uncertainty and financial constraints.

Since March, the Alumni Artist Support Initiative awarded seven grants for the creation of digital content, as well as funds for commissioning new work. Most awardees in the digital content category were featured as part of the Spring 2020 Mason Arts at Home program schedule. These included:

Rebecca Wahls, School of Theater 2011

Rebecca and Becca in Space
An original, comedy sketch web series about two astronauts who are stuck in space
