Biography

Jennifer Rosenfeld joined the Arts Management program for the Spring 2014 semester in addition to her duties as Associate Director of Educational Programs for the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media (CHNM) at George Mason.

A museum educator by training, Rosenfeld has developed, marketed, and fundraised for programs that incorporate music, art, and theater to tell the stories of the past in engaging (and fun!) ways.  As Deputy Executive Director for the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, she coordinated the national celebrations for Lincoln’s 200th birthday, including a concert honoring the 75th anniversary of Marian Anderson’s Lincoln Memorial performance and a Lincoln poetry reading co-sponsored with the National Endowment for the Arts.  As Education Director for the Long Island Museum, Rosenfeld oversaw all school and youth programs and developed a new family program series, Creativity and Kids, as well as an innovative program for middle school art students.  At the Old York Historical Society, she managed all school programs and public tours, including the creation of a museum theater program for the Society’s Old Gaol called Jail Break.

Rosenfeld has also consulted on museum education issues and served as a grant reviewer for the National Endowment for the Humanities.  She holds a B.A. in history from the College of William and Mary and an M.A. in history museum studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program, SUNY-Oneonta.
