Originally from Long Island, New York, Brianna Schoen holds a Master of Arts in Musicology from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from George Mason University. While attending IU, she wrote substantial papers on a variety of topics including Igor Stravinsky, Amy Beach’s chamber music, and women’s protest music in the 20th and 21st centuries. As a performer, she has played with the Indiana University Symphonic Band and Brass Band, George Mason University Wind Symphony and Orchestra, and the United States Air Force Band. She has previously worked in the marketing department of Smithsonian Folkways and the Indiana University Cook Music Library.
