Bekí Basch is an artist living in Baltimore, Maryland. She holds a BFA from The Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from The University of Maryland. Her work has been featured in solo and group shows nationally at Locust Projects (Miami, FL), Current Space (Baltimore, MD) VisArts (Rockville, MD), and a recent exhibition at Goucher College (Baltimore, MD). She has also exhibited work internationally at The Burren College of Art (Ballyvaughan, Ireland) and SIM Gallery (Reykjavik, Iceland). In 2016, Basch was a semifinalist for the Trawick Prize (Bethesda, MD) and in 2018, was selected as a semifinalist for the Janet and Walter Sondheim Prize (Baltimore, MD). She is currently working on a long term project, The Crown, which is a research-based investigation into the mythic ‘grail quest,’ and how this plays out in modern and historical accounts.
