Computer Game Design, BFA

Program Overview

Computer game design is one of the hottest degrees around and one of the most innovative. Designed to reflect the gaming industry’s demand for an academically rigorous technical program coupled with an understanding of the artistic and creative elements of the evolving medium, the course work draws from a number of fields of study, including computer science, visual arts, digital arts and computer music. The required internship provides students with practical experience that enhances their employability post-graduation.Students pursuing the minor will be able to participate in game program events, special activities, game design competitions, and in most projects hosted in the Computer Game Design Research Studio.

Opportunities

Computer Game Design majors work with accomplished multidisciplinary faculty who work in the field. This program prepares students to conquer the working world through portfolio courses, a pre-internship seminar, internships, and a senior project. Students also network with employers at the Senior Expo, and those who want to start their own businesses can study Game Entrepreneurship. Participation in game design competitions is also encouraged. Students also have access to the latest software as well as the Computer Game Design Research Studio.
