Soprano Aundi Marie Moore established herself as an exceptional talent with her Metropolitan Opera debut as Strawberry Woman in the Met’s 2020 production of Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.

Sid Dewberry, whose advocacy and generosity impacted countless students, and helped transform the entire George Mason University community, died July 16. He was 94.

Ms. Lauren Rigby joined our administrative staff as the new Assistant to the Director and Marketing Coordinator at the Dewberry School of Music. A graduate of the University of Mary Washington, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a Vocal/Choral Teaching License and a Minor in Spanish.

As a young artist in the Domingo-Cafritz Washington National Opera Program in 2007, soprano Aundi Marie Moore, BM ’03, had the chance to chat with Plácido Domingo, one of the most famous opera singers in the world. But the question she asked didn’t have anything to do with music.

Patricia Miller has been awarded the John Toups Presidential Medal for Excellence in Teaching from George Mason University. The medal is presented to a faculty member whose teaching exemplifies the university's commitment to ongoing innovation and excellence in delivering transformative learning experiences.
