Who We Are

Save the date of Saturday, October 18 for an exciting afternoon of special exhibits, performances, film screenings, and presentations. Meet CPVA faculty, staff, and current students!

Auditions and portfolio reviews for all CVPA undergraduate programs are held on this this date.

The College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) offers degrees in Art and Visual Technology, Dance, Film & Video Studies, Music, Theater, Arts Management, Art Education, and Computer Game Design.

Professional and liberal arts courses of study are designed to prepare students for careers as creators, performers, teachers, scholars, arts leaders, and arts entrepreneurs, while enriching the cultural life of the George Mason Community.

WHY A MAJOR IN THE ARTS?

CVPA faculty and administrators work with students to develop both their disciplinary skills and the necessary training to apply their knowledge to be creative, critical, and innovative leaders in their chosen professions. Gallery installations, production designs, production management, and arts internships encourage students to understand the true meaning of work ethics and professional practices through communicating with their colleagues and with the leaders of the artistic mission.
