Thanks to supporters, School of Dance students are able to learn from distinguished faculty and visiting choreographers.

Join us each Spring for a special, insider-view event before the School of Dance’s annual Gala Dance performance. Featuring delicious hors d’oeuvres, open studios, and a chance to mingle with students, faculty, choreographers, this event raises much-needed funds for student scholarships. The School of Dance is one of the premier modern dance programs in the United States and attracts students from all over the country and the world. Your support helps students get a first-class education and go onto dance on stages all over the world, including on Broadway and at the Kennedy Center.

Off the Wall

Come out and join us each Spring for Off the Wall, a celebration of the visual arts at Mason, including the School of Art, Computer Game Design and Film and Video Studies Programs. Guests interact with students and faculty in open studios and galleries in Mason’s state-of-the-art Art and Design Building. Make a print, star in a film, play a video game, enjoy a live DJ, sample delicious food and beverages, and bid in the silent auction. Proceeds from tickets and sponsorships support Art, Film and Game Design student scholarships and visiting artist residencies.

The Hylton Performing Arts Center’s Anniversary Gala

The Hylton Performing Arts Center’s Anniversary Gala raises funds for the performances and programs at the Hylton Center, including educational programs, the Veterans and the Arts Initiative, as well the the Hylton Center’s Endowment. Held annually in the Spring, more than 400 guests enjoy dinner on the Merchant Hall stage and performances by student and local artists. This annual event has collectively raised more than $1 million for the artists, performances, and programs of the Hylton Center and is part of Mason’s Faster Farther Campaign. ARTS by George!

Center for the Arts, Fairfax Campus

Each September, the seven academic disciplines in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, the Mason Community Arts Academy, and the Green Machine Ensembles join forces to present the annual ARTS by George! benefit to raise funds for student scholarships and community arts programs.

Students and faculty from each discipline collaborate in a series of behind-the-scenes showcase performances and exhibits in open studios and rehearsal halls of the deLaski Performing Arts Building. The event includes award-winning wine and restaurant stations from the top restaurants in the D.C. region, as well as a silent auction of arts-related items and experiences. The evening culminates in a gala performance by a headliner in the Concert Hall, followed by an on-stage champagne and dessert reception with the artist. The annual event has collectively raised more than $1 million since it began in 2006.
