Mason’s College of Visual and Performing Arts empowers more than 1,700 young artists to reach their maximum potential in a unique educational setting, and to make an impact on the region and the world.

Our students receive the rich benefits of a large research university coupled with state-of the-art performance and exhibit venues, dedicated faculty mentors, deep connections with working artists through master classes, and an abundance of internships and professional development opportunities in the Greater Washington metropolitan region.

Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the most diverse university in Virginia, Mason students do not fit the traditional college student profile.

Often, they are first in their family to attend college (38%), receive Pell grants (28%), and attend part-time or full-time while also working. Approximately 57% of Mason students receive some form of financial aid.

Support for student scholarships removes financial barriers for promising young artists. Thanks to the generous support of donors, the College of Visual and Performing Arts is proud to offer scholarships to hundreds of students per semester from nearly 750 scholarship opportunities.
