Audio Production Minor

Students receive training to work behind the scenes in productions. Requirements for this minor include classes such as Music and Technology as well as Sound Engineering.

Opportunities

Sound design students are encouraged to develop a resume of personal experience that includes class work, theater productions, events, internships, and summer field experiences. Students have opportunity to work with professionals and faculty members as well as those visiting Mason as part of the Performing Artist Residency in Theater (PART).  Sound minors may find opportunities to learn and work in our venues, including ranging from TheaterSpace, a 150-seat flexible venue, the Harris Theater,a 460-seat traditional proscenium stage with a counterweight fly system, and the 1900-seat Center for the Arts Concert Hall. The School of Theater offers additional technical venue opportunities through touring productions to the Hylton Performing Arts Center on Mason’s nearby Science and Technology campus.
