Event Technical Production Minor
The 15-credit Event Technical Production Minor provides the opportunity to study special event management and event technologies, design and production for installations and special events. Students will gain insights into industry standards and practices regarding planning, managing, and executing live events and presentations.
This minor is offered collaboratively by the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ School of Theater and the College of Education and Human Development’s School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism.

The required courses in this minor provide students with a foundational overview of management and production. Students can complement that knowledge with specific electives that meet their individual interests in events and areas of design and technology.

- THR 230 - Fundamentals of Production Credits: 3
- One of the following:
- TOUR 220 - Introduction to Event Management Credits: 3

Academic training in this minor prepares students for work in the arts, cultural, tourism and hospitality industries, including Resorts, Hotels, Meeting/conference planning, Festival management, Event planning, Wedding planning, Tour operations, Visitor services, Cruise ships, Entertainment venues, Cultural attractions, Production Companies, Theme Parks and more.
